20 Years of Crocs Clogs and Counting!

In 2002, a foam clog was unveiled at a Fort Lauderdale Boat Show in Florida. A limited number of 200 pairs were produced and every pair sold out. This would be the start of a historic cultural shift in the footwear industry by the brand known world wide, Crocs.

Over the past 20 years, Crocs has established themselves as the pinnacle of sandals/slides and an essential staple to every person’s closet. No matter your lifestyle! Sunny days running through the sand on the beach. Giving your feet a much needed rest after a competitive day of sports. Even gracing the feet of iconic celebrities like Madonna with their luxury runway Balenciaga collaborations.

The brand continues to push the storytelling potential of their signature clog, while also creating a space for evolution in future design. This can be seen in the utility based all-terrain clog, winter lined clogs, platform crush and especially in the latest futuristic designed Echo Clog

One of the most game changing moments for Crocs happened in 2021, where they officially announced a line of collaborations with award winning designer, Salehe Bembury. The Crocs Pollex Clog designed by Salehe took the footwear/fashion industry by storm and helped push the brand to unimaginable heights post pandemic. The 8 colorways have sold out within 24 hours with every release and more colors are planned for the near future.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Colorado based Crocs business. Over 850 million pairs have been sold since their inception and annual sales of over $2.3 billion. If you haven’t purchased your first pair of Crocs yet, that’s ok. It’s never too late to join the Cozy Crocside!
