2023 WNBA All Star Week Recap.

What happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas – especially this year when the 2023 WNBA All Star Game arrived! It was impossible to keep the record-breaking moments under wraps, as people from all over the world witnessed the remarkable athleticism and invigorating atmosphere that made this All Star Game one of the greatest EVER!

The 2023 WNBA All-Star Weekend kicked off Friday, July 14, and Sabrina Ionescu showed us how it was done! She set a new record with her incredible performance in the 3-Point Contest, making 20 consecutive shots and ending with a mindblowing 37 points – the highest ever for the WNBA or NBA!

Even though the Skills Challenge didn’t go as planned for Sabrina Ionescu and Courtney Vandersloot, they put up a good fight against Team Aces (Chelsea Gray and Kelsey Plum). Gray hit all three of her shots, an elbow jumper and two threes in the final round. In the end, it was Chelsea Gray and Kelsey Plum who came out on top, showing off their championship-winning skills!

On Saturday night, Jewell Loyd shone brightly at the 2023 WNBA All-Star Game. Already the league’s top scorer, she left with an All-Star scoring record and the MVP trophy. The Seattle Storm guard dazzled from downtown, pouring in 31 points to etch her name into the record books and power Team Stewart to a victory over Team Wilson.

In addition to Jewell’s spectacular scoring night, Sabrina Ionescu’s remarkable run of scoring did not end with the three-point contest; she continued to astound fans with her scoring prowess in the WNBA All-Star Game. Representing Team Stewart, she put up a noteworthy 18 points, making all three of her attempts from four-point range in the first half. Her remarkable performance was met with applause from both fans and players, all while she sported her latest sneaker, The Sabrina 1.

Redefining what it means to be a signature athlete, Nike and Ionescu are joining forces with the upcoming Sabrina 1. This shoe has been designed specifically with the needs of athletes like Ionescu in mind, providing them with the swift movement and reliable energy boost required to excel in the fourth quarter.
