It seems like every time Jordan Brand drops a new AJ 1 Retro High colorway lately, a mid-cut and a low-top version in similar shades follow in the high-top’s footsteps.
Light Smoke Grey, Varsity Red and University Blue hues have all been applied to the “little brother” Air Jordan 1 silhouettes in recent months.
This move by the Swoosh allows greater accessibility of its AJ 1 colorways, even if inventory of its high-top versions are more limited.
For this upcoming release, though, the mid- and low-top versions have already hit the shelves, at least by name if not by color.
You may know Hyper Royal as the deep-blue color that’s featured on dozens of Nike and Jordan sneakers over the years, including the mids and lows I mentioned above, but you’ve never seen it like this.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Hyper Royal’ features a white leather upper with overlays in a washed-out version of the namesake color.
The aforementioned Light Smoke Grey shade covers the Swoosh, the collar trim and the outsoles for a supremely clean look.
