“An all-syrup Super Squishee? Such a thing has never been done!”
So says Apu in a legendary Season 5 episode of The Simpsons, when Bart and Milhouse find a $20 bill, power down the frozen convenience store concoction and subsequently go on a sugar-fueled night on the town.
The Squishee, Springfield’s answer to 7-Eleven’s iconic Slurpee drink, came in multiple flavors over the years, some such a “Twenty-One Syrup Salute,” “Chinese New Year,” “Xmas Green” and “Xmas Red” celebrating major holidays on the calendar.
Sounds kinda like sneakers, right?
The Brand with the Three Stripes certainly thinks so. adidas has put together a handful of collabs with The Simpsons this year, including a ZX 1000 C inspired by the “Flaming Moe” cocktail and a forthcoming Forum Low 84 in a Duff Beer-themed colorway.
But now you can get your sugar fix Bart-style with the Simpsons x adidas Superstar ‘Squishee.’
The iconic 50-year-old silhouette comes dressed in splashes of Semi Solar Green, Bright Orange and Sky Tint that’ll have people hollering “Whoa! That’s good Squishee!” Tongue tags read “Kwik-E-Mart” and a Squishee-shaped dubree holds the laces down behind the toe box.
