Inspired by flight, this Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG release should be on your radar

A 1985 Nike commercial once posed the question: “Who said man was not meant to fly?”

The man who appeared in that commercial, Michael Jordan, spent his career defying the idea that man’s place was firmly on the ground.

His Airness, whose soaring silhouette is now one of the world’s most recognizable logos, wore the Nike Air Jordan 1 in that ad spot.

It was a shoe that pushed all boundaries. Now Jordan Brand is paying tribute to another type of flight, and another exercise in boundary-pushing, with the release of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Silver Toe.’

Inspired by space innovation and the future of flight, the forthcoming AJ 1 features ‘Black Toe’ color blocking with the toebox, heel counters and collars all dressed in “crinkle” silver leather.

If it looks familiar, it should: a patent leather-adorned ‘Gold Toe’ AJ 1 dropped around this time in 2018. It’s not an OG colorway, but it’s certainly innovative.
