With the Air Jordan 3 Retro ‘Cool Grey,’ a 2007 favorite emerges again

It’s clear Jordan Brand likes to build suspense.

We haven’t seen an Air Jordan 1 high in the ‘Chicago’ colorway since 2015. The 2009 ‘Raging Bull’ edition of the AJ5 is finally slated for a return this year after more than a decade of waiting.

Even the 2019 Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘Cool Grey’ was the first time the shoe had been seen in that livery since 2004.

This time around, another classic Jumpman model featuring those hues will make a long-awaited re-appearance with the return of the Air Jordan 3 Retro ‘Cool Grey.’

Last seen in 2007, the ‘Cool Grey’ version of Michael Jordan’s third signature model is absolutely worth the wait. Shade for shade it’s identical to the original release, but this time Jordan Brand upped the ante and used premium materials.

The genuine Silver leather upper contrasts beautifully with the elephant-print overlays at the toe and toward the heel, while a Light Graphite midsole and mudguard keeps things looking bold.

And like sunshine peeking through clouds on a gloomy day, we’ve got hits of Orange Peel and Sport Red highlighting the small details at the tongue, heel tab and lace eyelets.

Who knows when we’ll see this model and colorway combination next, so make sure you cop your pair later this month.

The Air Jordan 3 Retro ‘Cool Grey’ releases in Men’s and Grade School sizing on 2/20 at jdsports.com.

Update, 2/19: The Air Jordan 3 Retro ‘Cool Grey’ release on 2/20 will be ONLINE ONLY, with pairs coming to stores soon.
